spots. Some have cows you can milk, some have no
animals at all. Some are "high-tech" and some are
"old school," but they all share one thing! They
offer you a gracious and rural welcome to visit
them...for a day or a season!

do that? Well not exactly
free cause you know there's costs to bringing you a
webpage each year. We hope that folks who use our

ROAD WARRIERS and other TRAVELERS
Connecting Road Warriors and Farm Stay Locations across
America |
| Hey Travelers!
Welcome to our
little part of the web. We hope you'll check back with
us as we work hard to add FARM STAY locations across America
(and Canada too!). We provide this website as a
gathering space for those of you looking for this experience
in America, and for Farm Stay Operators to post their
availability. If you can help by sending us a few
dollars because you matched up with an Operator you found
here, you would really be helping us. Even if you are
unable or choose not to send us some money, won't you please
send us an email about your experiences! Each bit of

*List
your FARM STAY for free on our site. Here's how it
works.
Send us and email to PIONEER (at) RRV (dot) NET
Just let us know what you have to offer, if there's a link to
a web page, your location etc. As a Farm Stay location
myself I understand that you might get 1 or 2 or a few
reservations from this web site. That's why it's free to
list your location. I trust that if you find some
success in your little Farm Stay Operation, that you'll reward
us with just a little token of your gratitude! I'm
aghast that some farm stay listing services want to charge
more than I gross in some years. ARE THEY NUTS?
This page works on the honor system! I think that folks
out there are good and honest people and are happy to reward
those who help them. I sure do. In my little
business if someone gets me a client I always send a little
something to say THANKS! I'm trusting that you'll do the
same.

MY STORY
Connecting Road Warriors and Farm Stay Locations across
America |
Howdy! Thanks for
reading this far! My name is John Reitmeier.
If you google my name you'll see that I'm involved in
LOTS of different things. All those together
earn me enough income so that I can continue to live
here on my 4th generation farm in Northwestern
Minnesota! We're located in the heart of the Red
River Valley. Many folks in the USA will
remember back to 1997 when the great flood hit Grand
Forks North Dakota. We'll that's the Valley that
we live and farm in. No worries though, we're 44
feet higher than the HIGHEST flood waters every
recorded, so even if a major flood should come along,
the worst you'll have is a great story to tell your
kids! By the way, the next big flood like that
isn't expected for another hundred years, and only comes
during the spring snow melt, not with a few surprise
rains!
My great grand parents moved to this part of Minnesota
back in 1888. They first settled in Wisconsin but
for some reason quickly left that part of the country,
and hearing that land was being given out through land
grants up here, this is where the suitcases were forever
unpacked! That homestead farm is just a mile to
the west of us. In 1919 my Grand Parents were a
young couple with just 3 children. The big house
was just not big enough anymore so Great Grandpa and
Grandpa together bought the 1/2 section of land that our
farmhouse sits on. There was nothing here at
all...just a 1 mile by 1/2 mile piece of land with a low
lying swail in the SW corner. The first thing that
went in was a deep well. On the last visit of the
well drillers in 07 they dropped a line down to measure
it. The pumping part of the well (which we have to
pull every few years and re-leather the valves) is about
90 feet below the ground. However we found that
the actual well casing goes down over 187 feet into an
aquifer that has water that dates back about 10,000
years when this entire valley was actually a Lake!
Now named Lake Agassiz, there was a recent time (just a
few thousand years) when this farm location was under
300 feet of water. That's what makes the soil some
of the richest in the world! (second only to the
Nile Valley...which REALLY does flood each year)

COME!
